Consultation Committee

WORKING TOGETHER WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Let's take a walk together to understand how a variety of development and industrial activities may impact our local Métis community and our relationship with the land. Reach out to us for consultation with the Métis Local.

Métis Harvesting

POTENTIAL IMPACT TO CONSIDER

In 2019, the Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) and the Government of Alberta signed the Métis Harvesting in Alberta Policy, which came into effect September 1, 2019. The policy allows approved MNA citizens to hunt, fish, and trap for food in designated harvesting areas.

By signing of this policy, any activity in the harvesting areas could affect the livelihoods of our MNA citizens.

We want to work with all areas of Industry and Government (local and provincial) to ensure the impact to these harvesting areas are minimal.
